Jan Freuchen (b. 1979, Stavanger, Norway, lives and works in Oslo and Berlin) is an artist working with installations, drawings, sculptures and constructions. Freuchen reconsiders human achievements in the light of a non-linear, dynamic theory where natural processes and the feedback loops of contemporary cultural expressions provides the fundaments for his deconstructive artistic practice. He holds a degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Bergen, Norway and Staatliche Hochschule für Bildende Künste, Frankfurt am Main, Germany.

Among Jan Freuchen’s recent exhibitions are: "The Riot Act", Gallerie Mor Charpentier, Paris (2011), "Rehersal", NON, Istanbul (2011), “F.A.Q.”, Erik Steen Gallery, Oslo (2010), “Momentum, Nordic Biennial”, Moss (2009), “If you destroy the image”, Bergen Kunsthall (2008), “Lights On”, Astrup Fearnley (2008) and “Destroy Athens, 1st Athens Biennial” (2007) in Greece.
